Yesterday at specially convened assembly, Mrs Breen came to speak to P4-7 about the upcoming elections for the new Student Council. The Student Council holds a very important role in our school, as they represent the boys and class from their class and put forward different ideas which the pupils feel will make our school a better or happier place. Every child's voice and opinion matters in St. Mary's!
We have an exciting programme of events planned for this year, where our Student Council will lead the school on various projects.
For anyone interested in being a class representative, they will have to write a candidate election speech and deliver it to their class to convince their peers that they are the best person for the job!
On Friday each class from P4-7 will come to the polling station in the assembly hall. They will go into the polling booth and cast their vote in secret. When the teachers count the votes we will announce the new Student Council for 2022/23! Good luck to all candidates in the upcoming election 👨⚖️👩⚖️
