Well-being Wednesday 20th January 2021

19th Jan 2021

It's Wednesday again which can only mean that today is Well-Being Wednesday. As ever we hope and trust you are all keeping well. This week we have a number of activities we would like you to consider.

  1. The 3 Minute Gratitude Journal Inside your school packs you should find this journal. Thank you to the PSG for funding this through the “WRAP” programme for all pupils. This book is a guide to encourage an attitude of gratitude and is designed to focus on being thankful for what we have, the big things in life, as well as the simple joys. Each spread contains space to list out three things you are thankful for, a person who brought you joy and how you felt about your day. If you start each day by writing down three things you are thankful for - a family, a favourite person, starting a good book etc - you begin each day on the right note. Do it daily and make it a habit to focus on the blessings you have been given!
  2. "Which Of My Skills Am I Grateful For?" In this poster, children are encouraged to think about how they can use their skills to help others.
If your child is unsure, help them with examples
  3. "Find The Positive In Every Situation" This poster encourages your child find the positives in a
 seemingly negative situation.
  4. The Daily Mile at Home. As part of an incentive to get families fit and active “The Daily Mile” will be posting weekly challenges that you all could take part in as a family. The first challenge poster is included below. For more information you can visit https://thedailymile.co.uk/at-home/
  5. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fTzXFPh6CPI Follow the link for this video to practice melting away that icky frozen feeling you get when you're scared, frustrated, or angry.
  6. “Helping Children Manage Change Through the Pandemic” If you have not already done so we would encourage you to register for this online session which will help parents identify areas of change during this pandemic, explore the impact these changes can have on the child and the parent help parents develop strategies to help reduce the impact of change for both them and their children. Places are limited and you can register by contacting stmarypspsg@gmail.com

Please continue to keep in touch with your child’s teacher via email or Microsoft Teams.

Take Care and remember to look after yourself and others.
