Very special visitors to Nursery

12th Oct 2022

Today we were delighted to welcome Michelle and Charlie to Nursery.  Michelle told us how to behave around dogs to make sure we keep ourselves safe.  The first thing she told us was to always ask permission before you pet a dog.  She showed us how to pet a dog properly by rubbing it under its chin.  She said we should never interrupt a dog when it is eating.  She gave us very important ways to protect ourselves if a dog runs at us.  We all practised the X Factor move to keep us safe.  We talked about how important it is to clean up after dogs when they go to the toilet.  We got a chance to ask some questions and we found out that Charlie is 11 years old.  Charlie really impressed us by doing some great tricks.  Our favourite one was when he balanced a dog biscuit on his nose and caught it in his mouth!  The best part of the visit may just have been when we all got to practice what we had found out because we all got a chance to pet Charlie before he left!
