Tuesday 19th May

19th May 2020

We must start again today with birthday greeting as yesterday Lucie Mai (P6) celebrated her 10th birthday. Happy Birthday Lucie Mai. She told me that she had a great day celebrating and she asked me to let everyone know that she misses all in her class and she can’t wait for school to start again

After my call yesterday to “Tie a Ribbon” we have a number of people who have walked past the school and attached their ribbon to the school railings. The first one to get in touch was Cian (P3) who went out for his daily walk/run and put his ribbon with a message of kindness onto the school railings. Eva Maris (P5) and Isla (P1) put ribbons on for each of their teachers and one for all of their class friends. They want everyone to know they are thinking of them and they hope you are all keeping well.

Aoibhinn (P2) and her mum continue to learn using Makaton and Aoibhinn even made time to make a video message that she wanted to share with everyone for Kindness awareness week. This is fantastic Aoibhinn and your message is very appropriate for this week. It is especially thoughtful that you took the time to learn your message using sign language. How very considerate of others.

Cahlie (P5) and Harrison (P2) got in touch to say that their act of kindness was repaid yesterday when they  received a lovely surprise from Lily May (P5) and her sister for Cahlie's birthday. They delivered some handwritten letters, pictures, a present, card and even some homemade buns complete with candles for Cahlie. Cahlie was absolutely delighted with this very kind gesture and it brightened up her 'lockdown' birthday! Harrison and Cahlie want to thank Lily May and her sister for this very thoughtful and lovely surprise.

Finally for today, Bella (Nursery) is loving the pirates theme in Nursery this week. She was delighted and has been watching lots of videos and learning songs on YouTube, and even watching her favourite Disneyland virtual ride on The pirates of the Caribbean whilst screaming Argh at the tv, dressed up in her pirate attire. Thank you for getting in touch Bella and your joy has certainly helped to brighten up my day!

As always send your pictures to pgilchrist570@c2kni.net We were very hopeful that the weather was going to stay fair for us this week but maybe i was too hopeful! However, don't let it wreck your picnic plans and if you were planning a "virtual" or "Teddy Bear's" picnic, why not have it inside? Whatever your plans, let's continue to spread a little happiness and kindness to others in our schooling community this week.
