9th Apr 2020

I hope you are well. It’s been a busy few days and it seems that many oy you have been making the most of the good weather and getting outside. I hope you have enjoyed our P1 and P4 videos this week and I also see that our future camogie stars have been spending their free time developing their skills. Thank you to Portaferry GAC for putting that video together. Jude (P5) and Shane (P2) got in touch to say that they are keeping themselves busy. Every morning before home learning begins, they have an important job to do.  They let the hens and ducks out, give them food, water and collect the eggs...just in time for Easter!

Adam (P4) and Lucy (Nursery) have been enjoying the lovely weather and doing Art outside. They also made their very own Easter Tree, making their own decorations and are now looking forward to the Easter Bunny coming!

Aoibhinn (P2) has been practicing 'time'. She drew clocks in the sand and practiced her long and short hands. She misses her friends, her teachers and hopes that they are all safe.

Leah (Nursery) has been busy doing the work sheets and she tells me she loved doing the piggy footprints. She also said she has been doing lots of arts & crafts, baking and thankfully been out in the garden the last few days practicing her camogie and watering our flowers. Darragh (P2) couldn’t wait to show me his own pepperoni pizza he made for dinner. I hope it tasted as good as it looks! He has also been enjoying his daily exercises and keeping an eye out for fairy doors. Ava (P3) has been busy helping her mum mop the floors at home and she made a fort to relax in. Aoibhe (P5) has been doing her crafts outside after she finishes her literacy, numeracy and reading. She also tells me she took part in her first Zoom Irish dancing class. I hope you keep up the practicing.

Charlie (P1) has been busy at home learning about The Very Hungry Caterpillar, lifecycles & days of the week. He has also been working on his cvc words, reading & writing, exploring and looking for signs of spring with his brother. He also tells me he had great fun throwing stones and making ripples. Donal (P6) made scones after getting a full house in his spelling test. Well done Donal! Kian (P6) and Niamh (P4) were busy learning about the weather. Niamh did some research and carried out investigations to learn more about clouds, while Kian was researching thunderstorms finding out about what causes them and what happens when lightning strikes and why we can hear thunder. They both did some experiments with balloons which produced electrical charges similar to those that are found in thunderstorms.

I hope everyone has an enjoyable, if somewhat different Easter. Keep sending me your pictures and I will try to add some to our web site over the next few days.
