We were very fortunate to have a visit from our friend Karen from the RSPB today. Karen has been coming to our school for many years and has a wealth of knowledge about the birds and wildlife in our area.
She told us a lovely story using lots of props and puppets. We learned the types of things birds like to eat and how to encourage birds into our school grounds. We went on a big adventure with our binoculars and spotted lots of sparrows, robins, pigeons, some crows and a black hooded gull. We recorded our results which will be used by the RSPB to see which birds enjoy living here.
At the end we collected lots of twigs and dried grass and leaves and left them in a pile so that the little birds can borrow them when they are building their nests. We hope they like our special present 🐣
