Teamwork makes the dream work in P4!🌟🐬🏆

7th Sep 2023

P4 had a very busy week outside and inside the classroom. Lots of outdoor games and learning were enjoyed in the sunshine. They were also able to visit the chapel to say a few little prayers and find out about joining the school choir.

For Literacy, it was all about spellings and sentence structure as the boys and girls took on new elements of homework and class work. They also listened to and worked on the story of Grace Darling; a very famous lady in maritime history.

During Numeracy, it was about remembering and perfecting addition and subtraction ‘in their heads’ as they prepare for dealing with larger numbers.

The artwork of Northern Irish artist Adrian Margey, based on Donaghadee Lighthouse was the focus during creative time. The children loved discussing his use of colour and shape. They also had time to read all about the recent dolphin rescue on Strangford Lough as part of their ‘Rescue at Sea’ topic. Well done to Leigha and Cliodhna who won the ‘P4 Mindful Dolphin Colouring Competition’ this week.

Mrs O’Neill is looking forward to seeing some brilliant P4 homeworks and hopes the boys and girls have a lovely weekend after all their hard work.
