Sustrans Cycle Skill lessons

15th Jun 2021

Last week we were fortunate enough to have a visit from our Sustrans Active travel officer  Iain. By working with Sustrans we are hoping to promote active travel (walking, scooting and cycling) within our school community.

During his visit, Iain checked 28 bikes on Monday for Dr Bike. He was impressed to see so many, good quality, well maintained and modern bikes being ridden to school and passed on a well done to the boys and girls and their parents!

On Tuesday, 23 P7 pupils participated in cycle skills on Tuesday, with many participants saying they felt more confident to ride their bike in their own time (and some have been out practicing in their spare time too!)

16 P7 pupils participated in another Cycle Skills lesson on Tuesday. All were absolutely fantastic and again said they were keen to get out and ride bikes in their spare time!

Iain also commented on how much he enjoyed visiting our school and how polite and well mannered our pupils were. We were so happy to hear this and can’t wait for more boys and girls to have the chance to take part in lesson next week and next year!
