Our P7 pupils enjoyed a truly special intergenerational morning at Portaferry Library as we came together with residents from Barrhall Nursing Home to celebrate World Book Day. We were so warmly welcomed by the library staff, who helped create a relaxed and friendly atmosphere for everyone. The room was filled with conversation about days gone by, joyful singing, and the simple pleasure of listening to stories together.
There was something very special about watching friendships blossom across the generations, reminding us all of the power of storytelling to bring people together.
It was a brilliant morning and we are already looking forward to meeting again soon, when our pupils plan to learn and perform some old songs — and even enjoy a little dancing — for their new friends.
