Staying Safe Online with AI
This week, the whole school engaged in an exciting and informative journey to learn about internet safety and using AI wisely. With eager minds and creative energy, all classes participated in ICT activities designed to enhance their understanding of online safety.
The week kicked off with classroom activities led by our dedicated teachers, where children explored the basics of safe internet practices. They discovered useful tips and discussed the importance of staying safe in the digital world. An important highlight was the assembly led by Miss McCarthy on Safer Internet Day 2026. Our talented P7 students then took the lead with a brilliant discussion on AI, sharing their insights and sparking curiosity among their peers. We even had a specially crafted interactive PowerPoint game that added an element of fun to their learning, in the form of 'Who wants to be a Digital Citizen?'
Students across different classes enjoyed a variety of activities, including colouring pages, discussion cards, and robotic programming. These workshops aimed to teach safe online habits while showing how ICT can be both educational and fun.
We are incredibly proud of our students' enthusiasm and the knowledge they have gained. Thank you to all teachers and pupils for an engaging and successful week of learning!
** Though Safer Internet Day 2026 was originally 10 February, because of half-term, we celebrated it on 17 February 2026 instead **
