Today, Primary 6 braved the windy playground to take part in a ‘measures scavenger hunt’. They were given a list of items both inside and outside the school to measure and select the most appropriate way to measure them.
They used rulers to measure smaller items in mm, metre sticks to measure larger items in cms and metres and trundle wheels to measure the perimeter of even larger items. Well done to Cian and Kaelem who were first to complete the challenge.
Tomorrow, we will be exploring measures further and investigating problems such as, how to you measure the height of a tree from the ground and is the longest blade of grass always around the edge of the grass path?
