As part of our topic on winter, we are learning about whales. Our Big book is called 'Dear Greenpeace'. It is about a little girl who writes to Greenpeace to find out lots of information about whales. Mrs Breen told us that we could be authors and write our very own Big information book about whales - so this is what we have written so far. Once we decided what our sentence would be, we used our listening ears to hear the sounds in the words and to record them. This is called emergent writing. Our teacher is very proud of us because we know that words are written from left to right; we have to leave a space between each word; a sentence begins with a Big letter and ends with a full stop. We have illustrated the first pages of our book too. We are so clever in P1!
