Plant and Play in Primary 1

20th Apr 2026
Primary 1 pupils had a wonderful hands‑on visit from Vikki from Plant and Play, filled with fun, creativity and learning. The children used stencils inspired by nature to decorate their own bags, before getting their hands dirty planting pea shoots and chatting about what plants need to grow and stay healthy. There were lots of smiles (and interesting facial expressions!) as everyone tasted some pea shoots that Vikki brought with her. The learning continued through sensory play as the children made “gummy worms” using slime, carefully pulling and pushing with syringes to build hand strength, and finished by working together with construction toys to design and build their own gardens. It was a joyful, engaging session that perfectly blended play, learning and curiosity about the natural world. Thank you so much Vikki!
