P7 exploring scale
Our Primary 7 learners explored the concept of scale by measuring real spaces and representing them accurately in drawings. Working collaboratively, pupils measured the school hall using appropriate tools, carefully selecting the correct units of measurement such as centimetres and metres. They then applied different scales to create precise representations, developing their understanding of why scale is used in real-life contexts like maps, plans, and design. This hands-on lesson strengthened problem-solving, accuracy, and mathematical reasoning, helping pupils see how maths connects to the world around them.
Miss Crawford and Mrs Breen were very impressed with the maths learning during this lesson.
