P6/7/Oak classes - Vikings on the shores of Strangford Lough
23rd Feb 2026
We were delighted to be joined at the Portaferry shorefront by Duane from Legends of Lecale Peninsula, who shared captivating stories about how Viking raiders arrived in Strangford Lough and the impact they had on the local area. Pupils learned about Viking life, their longships, and why this region was so important to them.
The visit was both informative and engaging, bringing history to life through storytelling and helping pupils deepen their understanding of our local heritage. A big thank you to Duane for such an enjoyable and memorable experience!
⭐ A fantastic afternoon of learning for our P6/P7/Oak classes!
