Primary Four went on a planned visit to Portaferry Library today. They met with Louise and Emma the librarians and had a wonderful time finding out about all the services that the library provides for us. Fionn particularly liked the thought of the Saturday ‘Lego Club’. Sophia also loves their ‘Chatterbooks Club’. There are Art and Craft activities in the library too. Very soon they will have a coding/robot day called ‘Microbits’. During the workshop today the children learned about lots of different types of fact and fictional books, popular authors and amazing characters. They also learned that they could use the library to borrow Accelerated Reading books too! They received some details about renewing or registering for a library card. We hope that lots of boys and girls from our school continue to use the library all year round. The librarians reminded us that our school won ‘The Big Summer Read’ last year and we hope that the P4 boys and girls will help with this challenge again this year.
