Primary Four enjoyed wonderful Literacy activities this week in the lead up to World Book Day and lots of brilliant characters arrived into the P4 classroom during World Book Day itself! So many of the children chose their favourite fact and fictional books from home and school. Fact books based on their WAU ‘Minibeast’ theme, environmental issues and sports stars were popular.
Fictional ones ranged from Roald Dahl classics, Harry Potter, Marvel Heroes, traditional fairytales, Jacqueline Wilson, The Rainbow Magic series, Diary of a Wimpy Kid selection, Dog Man and Cat Kid to Billy Conkers by local author Conor Busuttil as well as Greta and the Giants which was inspired by Greta Thunberg were also high on the list.
They read, discussed their books, designed and created their very own book covers, coloured beautiful Roald Dahl quotes, completed book wordsearches, crosswords and made lovely bookmarks. A big thank you to all the P4 parents from Mrs O’Neill for their continued support of home reading activities, comprehensions, visits to the local library, dress up day and especially Accelerated Reader.
