This week has been all about wonderful Numeracy and Literacy skills in P4. During Maths, the class looked at solving all sorts of Money problems using a range of coins and cash. They enjoyed ‘thinking in their heads’ to work out totals and change as well as investigating Money word problems in their text books. They looked at ‘Live Maths’ and ‘Rainforest Maths’ on Mathletics to help sharpen Numeracy skills too.
For Literacy, it was revision of verbs, compound words and homonyms. They also worked on the ‘f’ , ‘ff’ and ‘ph’ sounds for spellings and phonics. This week and next, the class hope to complete their latest Accelerated Reader Star Tests and we are looking forward to seeing great progress with AR comprehension skills.
All this with lots of new choir hymn lyrics alongside learning prayers and mass responses in the lead up to singing in the choir at Confirmation and their own special preparations for First Holy Communion.
P4 parents, don’t forget that there has been a change to the PE timetable. From next week onwards, P4 will have PE on Tuesdays and Fridays though full uniform will be expected for choir on Friday 19th April for Confirmation. Keep up the fantastic work at home and in school P4!🌟
