Primary Four spent the last few weeks working on lots of multi-sensory approaches to the consolidation of Subtraction. Everything from using fingers, counters, number lines, number squares, blank number lines, flashcards, workbook activities and Mathletics tasks. The importance of developing Maths language and problem-solving skills cannot be underestimated and something which can always be reinforced at home too. Alongside various mental strategies, there were lots of written strategies for the children to remember. Mrs O’Neill was so proud of how hard everyone worked that she rewarded them with a very special Subtraction certificate. Well done boys and girls!🌟
