Primary Four enjoyed going to The Book Fair in school. They found lots of their favourite genres of books. Everything from the fictional Tom Gates series, to Marvel Heroes and cuddly pets as well as fact books on gemstones and diaries to write in themselves.
Reading is a very important skill. The class have really enjoyed delving into their class book;’The Owl who was afraid of the Dark’ and their WAU topic books on ‘Waste’. They enjoyed being ‘Book Detectives’ at home and in school. Mrs O'Neill and Shena are so proud of the progress in reading.
Very soon, Primary Four will begin their Accelerated Reader journey. P4 parents, please see the attached letter and tips. A paper copy of the letter will also go home in next week’s homework pack.
We know that P4 will continue to read for enjoyment and comprehension, especially during these long dark evenings. Also, it may be a good idea to continue to avail of all the wonderful selection of books and activities in our local Portaferry Library to help further reading skills. 'Reach for the Stars' P4.
