P4 Capable, Creative, Motivated, Active Learners!🌟📚🏆
From phonics to sentence work, book studies to Accelerated Reader and now Letter Writing, the P4s have been busy putting lots of essential Literacy skills in place in school.
During Maths, the class focused on tying in their WAU theme of ‘Waste’ to some wonderful data collection and chart work as well as ‘Time’ reinforcement.
Artwork was all about decorating their name pieces for their PDMU topic and ‘The Owl who was Afraid of the Dark’.
Parents, please continue to supervise written homework to maintain standards. It is important that homework is completed neatly with clean hands, on a clean page using a sharp pencil, a good rubber and ruler. Please also ensure that at this stage, your P4 child forms letters, numbers and sentences correctly as well as knowing the difference in size of capital and lower case letters.
With the children beginning their Accelerated Reader program, attempting lots of new spellings, learning lots of carols for choir, additional homework pieces, Mathletics tasks and preparation for December assessments, it is so crucial that high homework standards continue and that homework is returned routinely each Friday. This will really help your child to progress, feel supported and secure in their learning journey.
