P4 at Portaferry Lifeboat Station🌟
As part of their World Around Us topic ‘Rescue at Sea’, Primary Four visited Portaferry Lifeboat Station. They met the volunteer lifeboat crew and took part in a workshop on ‘Water Safety’ led by their Education Officer, John. The children learned the importance of staying together at the beach or shore, always telling an adult about where they are going, how to float and how to contact the coastguard in an emergency. They took in a tour of the station, tried on some safety equipment and best of all got to sit in the front seat of the lifeboat! Mrs O’Neill, Shena and Cindy were so proud of all the boys and girls in P4 as they listened, worked together, took turns and were very knowledgeable about Strangford Lough and safety on it. Thank you to everyone at Portaferry Lifeboat Station.
