Primary Four got off to a flying start today as they returned for Term 2. They were delighted to begin their new Maths topic of ‘Multiplication’ using practical methods and workbook activities backed up by Mathletics and our wonderful new Dynamo Maths program. They worked individually and in pairs to discuss the language and concept of multiplication using words like sets of, groups of, lots of, times, multiplied by and even product! There will be lots more activities to come before sets of times tables are sent home to be learned alongside parents.
During Literacy, the class worked on their phonics by finding words containing the i sound made using i, y or ui in their linguistic phonics scaffolded texts. They also completed their very first independent, written comprehension piece from our new Collins Treasure House series. Mrs O’Neill was very pleased with the results.
P4 homework is back to normal with Accelerated Reader books, New Wave Maths and English, sentence work, Mathletics and P4 prayers from ‘Grow in Love’. Keep up the great work at home and in school P4!🌟
