P4 Anti-Bullying Week!🌟💕
Primary Four focused on ‘Anti-Bullying Week’ work in the classroom and in the whole school assembly today. They examined the www.anti-bullyingalliance.org.uk website in class and took part in some of their suggested lessons. They discussed the theme ‘Power For Good’ and how it is important for everyone to distinguish between good and bad power. They listened to the Andy and the Odd Socks band perform their ‘Power for Good’ song. They looked at strategies to prevent and help someone who is being bullied. They took part in a BBCbitesize Live Lesson which delved into the different forms of bullying; physical, psychological and online as well as the importance of being an ‘upstander’ and not a ‘bystander’.
In the afternoon, the class looked at being superheroes and using their own ‘Power for Good’ from The Big Life Journal Wellbeing Superhero Pack. All this work will dovetail into our school values where everyone is asked to show respect, have high expectations, be inclusive, nurture and empower.
This week, all P4 parents are asked to help their child to create a poster based on our school values and talk about ‘Odd Sock Day’ which we will celebrate on Tuesday in school. Look at the www.anti-bullyingalliance.org.uk website together at home for lots of strategies and discussion areas too. Well done P4!🌟
