P4 and P6 make History!

P4 and P6 made history in Saint Mary’s last week when they both took part ‘separately but together’ in the next stage of our pupil ‘WRAP Wellbeing Project’.

Cormac Venney from HIP psychology literally ‘zoomed’ into both classrooms at the same time to provide amazing motivational tools and strategies for the children. Cormac is well known for his motivational work throughout GAA, Ulster Rugby and educational sectors. The session was interactive and engaging with the children taking part in virtual quizzes and surveys using ‘Kahoot’ on their ipads while watching the lessons develop on the interactive whiteboards and laptops. Topics included ‘Be your own superhero’, ‘Hunt the Good’ and ‘Keep your table stable’. All these wonderful wellbeing strategies will undoubtedly help the children now and throughout their lives. P5 and P7 will join in the zoom fun in January followed by lots more opportunities for our whole schooling community throughout 2021.
