P4 and P5 along with the younger children in our school attended Portico as part of the INTO Film Festival. They watched a special showing of ‘Dog Man’ with the whole cinema experience of dimmed lights, surround sound and most importantly lots of treats! This animated film is based on the writings of Dav Pilkey; a very popular author who loves the comic book genre as a medium to enthuse and inspire young readers. Our boys and girls have access to a lot of his books through Accelerated Reader and in classroom libraries.
Paula from Portico told the children a fascinating fact in that there was a link between Portico and Dav Pilkey. That link was bible quotes so the next time you pick up a Dav Pilkey book, see if you and your child can spot the quotes.
