Nursery Trip to Exploris!
We had a fantastic trip to Exploris Aquarium! We have been learning about penguins in nursery so we were very excited to see them up close and they did not disappoint! They came right up to the glass to see the children. They loved watching how they moved about and how quickly they got in and out of the water! A couple of seals also came up to their window to say hello to us. All the different types of fish proved very popular. We even found Nemo and Dory! Blair met us at the touch tank to tell us lots of interesting facts about the starfish. He passed it around for us to see it up close and touch it if we wanted to. We loved the tunnel that took us under the water and seeing the huge stingray up close was amazing. The shark also got lots of attention too! Our next stop was to see the turtles and white frogs. The otters came out to play too when we went past. We headed up the stairs to see some ‘cool’ reptiles and a noisy parrot! After a quick look out the window to check out the seals, otters and penguins again, we headed over the bridge and met a pirate! Our final stop was the restaurant where we were given toast and juice. We had built up quite an appetite at this stage so it went down a treat! While the children were eating, we conducted a poll to see what their favourite attraction was. The penguins came out on top with 7 votes. The shark got 4 votes. The fish and turtles both got 3 votes. The starfish, parrot, stingray, seals and seahorses also got 1 vote each. It’s safe to say we had a brilliant time! Thank you so much to Clare and the team at Exploris for looking after us all so well!
