For our Numeracy lesson today, we used the Numicon in Special Provision 1. Numicon is a fantastic tool to encourage exploration of number concepts. The children successfully copied patterns and crafted wonderful pictures. By working with the Numicon, the children developed a variety of skills, including practicing counting and problem solving. Their fine motor skills were strengthened as they carefully manipulated the Numicon pieces, as well as by recognising/replicating patterns, the children sharpened their pattern recognition skills.
