NSPCC Assembly

22nd Apr 2026

Today in school, Mr Gilchrist delivered a special NSPCC focused Speak Out. Stay Safe assembly, which focused on helping children understand their right to feel safe and to speak out if they are worried. It was first delivered to Primary 4 through to 7 pupils in the morning and Primary 1 to 3 pupils in the afternoon.

The pupils were highly engaged throughout the session and contributed thoughtfully, offering many insightful suggestions about situations that might make children feel sad, unhappy or unsafe. They also showed a strong understanding of who they could speak to if they needed help, both in school and beyond.

The assembly encouraged open discussion and reinforced the important message that children are not alone and that help is always available. This forms part of our ongoing commitment to safeguarding and wellbeing, with further Speak Out. Stay Safe learning planned for Term 3.

We are also looking forward to welcoming the NSPCC into school next week, when they will deliver assemblies for P3/4 and P6/7, continuing to strengthen pupils’ confidence to speak out and stay safe.
