Today, everyone came together to pay tribute to our lovely supervisor, Mrs Anne Kelly. After many years of service to Saint Mary’s Portaferry, she decided to retire at the beginning of this school year. Pupils, classroom assistants, teachers and members of our Board of Governors were in the hall as the children sang, recalled stories, read poems and prayers. Niamh in P3 presented Mrs Kelly with a beautiful memory booklet full of precious written pieces and pictures from current pupils, past pupils and parents. Oisin and Ethan from P7 presented her with a beautiful garden plant. Mr Gilchrist presented her with a very special Miraculous Medal from all the staff. Mrs Kelly also enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea in the staff room.
We wish Mrs Kelly a long and happy retirement. She has assured us that she will not be a stranger to St. Mary’s as she will always occupy a very special place in all our hearts.
