Minibeast Positional Language

28th Apr 2026

Today the children created a minibeast hotel, and placed the bugs according to a set of instructions. The children had to listen to the positional language (right, left, beside, on top, behind, underneath, inside and outside) and draw their bug in the correct spot. Ash class were all able to identify the location of the bugs in the hotel, showing good spatial awareness and logical reasoning skills - vital for mathematical development. The children then used Numicon to create butterfly and snail pictures.
