Maths Week Fun in Nursery!
One of our songs this week was Incy Wincy Spider. We used this as inspiration to create our own spiders. We started off by painting its body and then had to count carefully to make sure the spider had four legs on each side. Our wonderful creations are now hanging up in nursery as part of our Halloween decorations! We had lots of examples of great maths work in our outdoor play this week! Our construction corner had a real tape measure and the boys and girls did lots of checking and measuring as they worked! The tape measure was also used by Rónán to check how big Ruby was! There were lots of brick walls built and there was great counting on show when they tried to work out how many bricks they had used. Our children love a challenge and Lorcan decided he wanted to see how quickly he could go up and over our triangular climbing frame. Mrs Birt counted in seconds and he kept trying to beat his time. It wasn’t long before other boys and girls joined in too! The quickest time was three seconds which was good going! All the children got presented with a certificate for all the excellent mathematical skills on show! Keep up the great work boys and girls!
