The boys and girls were excited to commence Maths Week. We started our new topic of ‘Length’ today and found the Corbett Maths videos very effective alongside our ‘Five A Day’ Mental Maths questions. We learnt about the importance of accuracy when measuring and to always start from 0 on a ruler. The children look forward to applying this knowledge with our practical body measuring and outdoor Numeracy. The pupils enjoyed using the ‘Hit the Button’ application to help consolidate their knowledge of the 3 times tables. Our highlight of the day was taking part in the ‘Times Table Rock Challenge’. This tournament takes place until Wednesday. The boys and girls were so excited that they persuaded Mr Smyth to send home their usernames and passwords.
