Numeracy & Mathletics Success!🌟

31st Mar 2026

A big well done to all our pupils who took part in World Maths Day last week. The event was a great success for everyone! Special congratulations to Krystian in P3, Finn in P4, Tyler in P5, Caoimhe in P6 and Oisin in P7 who achieved the highest Mathletics ‘Live Maths’ scores in each year group and were given a little prize today.

So far this year our pupils have been awarded 300 bronze certificates, 170 silver certificates, 75 gold certificates, 44 platinum certificates, 22 emerald certificates and 7 diamond certificates. They also achieved 721,482 Curriculum Points and 97,874 ‘Live Maths’ points.

In addition to all the wonderful Maths going on in classes and in homes, our World Maths Day event, using Mathletics, Dynamo Maths, Five Minute Numeracy boxes, many websites, apps, fantastic outdoor and play-based Numeracy work, our P4-P7 pupils took part in a ‘Pupil Voice Numeracy Survey’ this term. The results of the survey were very positive indeed and concluded that ‘enjoyment of Maths remains high across all year groups’ and that ‘Mathletics continues to be a powerful motivator’. These words are heartwarming to read and give us confidence as a school that we are moving in the right direction.

Mathletics will continue to be available over the Easter break. There is no better way to help your child develop the correct mathematical language and understanding of concepts in preparation for computerised assessment in Term 3. If your child needs supported with or challenged in Maths, please see a previous post titled ‘Parent Partnerships and Support Systems for Numeracy’ on each of the class pages on the school website. Keep up the great work at home and in school.🌟
