It has been a busy first week back for P4 with lots of research on the C2k Newsdesk and Powerpoint work for their new World Around Us ‘Castles’ topic.
For Numeracy, the class have been introduced to the Multiplication Tables and focused on the 2x tables using lots of different practical and written methods to record their work. They also brushed up on their Mathletics skills with many completing their assigned Mathletics tasks and activities.
For Literacy, phonics was about the tricky ‘i’ and ‘y’ sounds with whole class work on sentence construction, grammar and comprehension. Over the next few weeks, P4 will have the opportunity to access the Accelerated Reader program which will also help with comprehension skills. It is so important that all school reading books are read and talked about each evening at home so that pupils feel confident and prepared for Accelerated Reader quizzes.
During ‘Grow in Love’ Religion work, the boys and girls explored the bible story of ‘David and Goliath’ in their textbooks, workbooks and on the interactive whiteboard.
