Last week we were delighted to be presented with our second Green Flag in recognition of our school's continuing commitement and dedication to helping create a more sustainable school and in the process assist in protecting our environment. Under the guidance of Mrs Fowler, our Eco Council members meet each month and encourage all within our school to better manage our waste by using the appropriate bins, to get outside more and notice the beauty of the nature all around us, to take part on our Daily Mile and Waste Free Wednesday initiatives, to plant trees and clean up our environment and help plan for how best to utilise our outdoor space. Our Eco Council also helped the school to obtain a grant from Live Here, Love Here to spend on our outdoor space and they have bigs plans on how this will be best spent next year. Thank you to all members of our Eco Council and to Scarlett, Cian and Caitlin who represented them at the presentation of our Green Flag in Newtownards last week. The flag will be raised in time for our pupils return to school in September 2022.
