Geometry Foundations In P5
This week Primary 5 have been working very hard consolidating their knowledge of 2D shape and began to explore the properties of 3D shapes. The boys are girls had the opportunity to take part in a range of multi- sensory activities. They completed workbooks from the geometry section of Mathletics and virtual 3D shape tasks from Mathletics. The boys and girls really enjoyed the practical elements of the carousel activities. They were provided with cocktail sticks, marshmallows and whiteboards. The children constructed a variety of 3D shapes from cubes to pentagonal prisms and were confidently able to describe their properties. Parents, there are a range of useful resources on the school website to support your child with their learning. The Corbett maths site is very effective to explain new concepts in Numeracy and there are a range of booklets on Mathletics that can be printed off. Lots of fun learning going on in Primary Five!
