Thank you once again to everyone who has visited the school this week and placed their ribbons on the railings. Remember you can continue to do this over the weekend and all through next week. If you are unable to tie a ribbon to the school railings you are welcome to tie anything colourful. All we ask is that there are no emblems and that the only writing is messages of kindness. A ribbon lets others know that we are thinking of them all during this time.
Kian (P6) and Niamh (P4) were out putting their ribbons on the school railings last night during their walk and commented on the number of ribbons. Bradan (P6) and Aoibhe (P5) tied a purple ribbon on their morning walk. They also asked to say “hi” to all their classmates. They are still very busy with their school-work, gardening, tending to their fast growing flowers and vegetables and enjoying long cycles on their bikes. Lochlan (P3) went yesterday evening to tie his ribbon to the school railings. After this we went for a walk on Kearney beach and he was very surprised to see that people had left funny faces, all made with stones, along the walk. It is great to hear stories about what other people are doing to help cheer us all up during this time. Not to be left out, Lochlan left his name on the wooden bench out of shells for the next people who are walking. That will surely put a smile on other peoples faces. Well done Lochlan.
Lily (P5) and Feidhelm (P3) picked a windy day to put their ribbons up. They wished the school was open so they could call in and say hello to everyone. Aoibhinn (P2) put a yellow ribbon on and loved to see all other ribbons that have been added so far. Oscar (P1) picked his favourite colour of ribbon to tie to school railings. He enjoyed seeing all the different colours of ribbons and his mum commented that they all look beautiful.
Last Friday night we all very excited by the visit of the two Orca whales in Strangford Lough. Adam (P4) was so excited that he decided to complete his own report about it. It was too good not to share. Well done Adam and thank you so much for sharing this with us all.
Olivia (Nursery) got in touch to say how much she was enjoying her topic this week of Pirates. Today she was very busy making a treasure map, sword and hunting for buried treasure....in her boat. She had lots of fun learning all about pirates and is now getting everyone to call her Captain Olivia. Well done Olivia and we are delighted to hear that you are enjoying the topic so much.
Ava (P3) was making a kite today but she thinks it might be just too windy today to try to fly it! She is hoping the wind gets calmer and the sun continues to shine so she can fly her kite this weekend. Finally today the Keating family Lee (P2), Francis (P5) and Nicole (P6) got blown away in the beach today but they loved throwing stones into the water.
