On Friday we started our First Steps programme, focusing on gross motor skills, fine motor skills and following multi-step instructions. We started with a circle time and then our main activity in the hall. The children were in 2 groups and each group took it in turns to follow a variety of instructions to travel to the correct rabbit burrow. It was fun going on tip-toes, doing bunny hops, jumping on 2 feet, skipping and taking giant steps but we had to make sure to go the right size and colour of hoop (burrow). After a calming down activity we went back to class to work on fine motor skills by cutting up a picture of a penguin and sticking it back together again. The children flew through this, showing great independence. Well done P1.
