Express Yourself Friday 5th February

5th Feb 2021

It's Friday and its another end of a week of remote learning. I hope and trust you all had a productive week and are ready for a well earned rest this weekend. Thank you to everyone who sent us in pictures throughout the week. It certainly help to lift our spirits and it was great to see so many of you looking so well and hearing that you didn't let the weather of this week stop you from having fun!

First up today we have Ava (P4) who tells me she loves baking cup cakes, and when she is finished she especially likes putting lots of sprinkles on them. They really look tasty Ava and i hope you enjoyed eating them. Aoibhe (P7), Abbie (P5) and Mya (P1) have also been doing a lot of baking and today they were busy making shortbread. Again, girls they look absolutely delicious. Oscar (P2) has been very busy doing his school work and getting out for his walk every day and he tells me that Windmill Hill is his favourite place to visit. He is getting very good at jigsaws and he showed me his favourite world jigsaw he has just completed. He also tells me that his uncle Adam lives in Australia and when he found it in his jigsaw map he now wants to go and visit Adam in Australia someday soon. When not doing his jigsaws Oscar loves boxing as well and he believes it is going to make him very strong so we have all been warned that we had better watch out!

Throughout this week all of our pupils have been doing lots of activities around mental health for Mental Health week. Lots of classes were doing different stories and activities. I know Primary 2 were doing the story of "Keep Going Brenda," Primary 3 pupils had a unique and funny video to watch which i know raised a few laughs and Primary 4 had a lovely song about being "positive."  I was also told that the Primary 1 children had been hearing stories about Elmer the elephant. Elmer is unique, fabulous and one of a kind, just like all of us! I was also told that during their meetings they brought something along which they enjoy doing and which makes them different. This helped to celebrate their differences, because just like Elmer, why should we fit in, when we were born to stand out ❤️ An important message for us all to remember.

There was so much going on throughout all classes and we hope that this helped to pass a little bit of fun and happiness, as well as to lift your spirits, throughout this challenging time.

Enjoy your weekend
