Exploring 3D shapes and their Nets
29th Sep 2025
Today, the children engaged in a hands-on exploration of 3D shapes and their corresponding nets. Using foldable geometric models, they were able to see how three-dimensional shapes unfold into two-dimensional nets—and how they fold back again. This interactive approach helped them understand the relationship between shapes and their nets in a meaningful way.
They examined and compared the faces, edges, and vertices of each shape both in its 3D form and as a net. To deepen their understanding, the children also made their own drawings of the 3D shapes and nets, showcasing their observations and creativity.
