Energy Saving Week

12th Jan 2024

Our school will be participating in ‘Energy Saving Week’ from Sunday 14th to Saturday 20th January 2024. This is an exciting initiative which will help consolidate the children’s knowledge of the conservation of energy and marks the end of our first Eco topic.

Throughout this week in school, the children will have the opportunity to take part in energy saving activities. We would also appreciate it if you, as a family household, could take part in the attached home challenge. Spend some time each night to discuss, as a family, the daily challenge and whether it has been possible to achieve the set targets within your household. A recording sheet with the daily challenges will be sent home on Monday. We would be grateful if you could complete this form, with Day 1 counted as Sunday 14th January 2024, and return it to your child’s class teacher by Friday 19th January 2024.

As a schooling community, we are excited to be participating in this ‘Energy Saving Week’ challenge. It demonstrates our willingness to becoming a more energy efficient and greener school. Educating our young people is also very important as they are the next generation and need to continue the mission to save our planet.

Most of the energy we use creates carbon emissions, which damage the environment. Reducing the amount of energy and water we use will limit the impact on the environment. Small changes can make big differences. Whether it’s turning the tap off when you brush your teeth, turning the lights off when you don’t need them, or turning TVs and games consoles off standby when not in use, everyone can make a difference and help protect our planet.

Join us as we embark this fun- filled and educational mission.

We hope that you enjoy the challenge.
