Last week, our school took part in ‘Energy Saving Week’. We were very impressed with the children’s responses to the five home challenges and we thank all of the parents who took the time to complete the form and discuss ways of conserving energy in the home. Throughout the week, all classes had the opportunity to complete ‘Energy’ activities. These ranged from discussions to posters and debates. To conclude our topic, members from the Eco Council conducted an ‘Energy Awareness’ survey with a selection of classes. The responses were very positive and demonstrated the children’s understanding of how to conserve energy both in their home and at school.
Our school results have been analysed and forwarded onto the Energy Saving Trust. We look forward to receiving and sharing our Carbon Saving Certificate in the coming weeks. We are delighted that the hard work of the Eco Council, pupils, teachers and parents has been acknowledged by this prestigious award.
We look forward to commencing our new topic of ‘Waste’ in February.
