Eco Week days 3 and 4 ♻️

28th Apr 2022

The Eco committee have been very busy over the past two days by helping our school to reduce its carbon footprint. Today we met again to discuss what has been going well and how we could make Eco Week even better next year!

On ‘Waste Free Wednesday’ the Eco Council confiscated all of the bins in the school! We agreed that this made the school day a little bit difficult but also made us think about how much waste we produce.

Today the Eco Council oversaw the running of our celebration of the Daily Mile’s 10th birthday. Every child participated in a one mile walk jog or run. The Eco council discussed how we really enjoyed getting outside and how it made it easier to concentrate when we got back to class.

Finally, the council calculated our carbon footprint this week (using an online carbon footprint calculator). At assembly tomorrow, the council are going to reveal to the rest if we were successful in our aim to get our carbon footprint below 100% of the rest of the world!
