Happy Saint Patrick's Day

16th Mar 2026

Yesterday in school we celebrated Green day and along with many class activities we were also treated to a wonderful impromptu St Patrick’s Day concert that brought music, dance, and storytelling to life in our school hall.

Pupils who are learning music with Niall McClean entertained us all with their fantastic performances. This was their first time playing in front of the whole school, and they rose to the occasion brilliantly—confident, talented, and full of spirit. We are so proud of each and every one of them.

We were also incredibly lucky to be joined by Mr Seamus McClean, All-Ireland Uilleann Pipe Champion, who delighted us with a selection of tunes. It was a real honour to have such a skilled musician perform for us, and the children were mesmerised by the sound of the pipes filling the hall.

Our Irish dancers then took to the floor, and it’s easy to see why we are celebrating new trophies, medals, and awards almost every week at our assemblies! Their energy, precision, and joy in dancing made the performance a highlight of the morning.

To finish, our Primary 6 and Primary 7 pupils shared the story of St Patrick, reminding us of the history, courage, and traditions behind our patron saint.

Tá súil againn go bhfuil Lá Fhéile Pádraig iontach agaibh go léir!
(We hope you all have a wonderful St Patrick’s Day!)
