Catholic Schools Week - Grandparents Day
Today, we celebrate one of God’s greatest blessings in our lives—our grandparents.
Their wisdom, love, and quiet witness of faith help shape who we are. Grandparents teach us what it means to live with patience, kindness, and a deep trust in God. They remind us that family is a sacred gift and that holiness often begins in the small acts of love we share at home.
As the prayer for today beautifully reflects:
“Grandparents are a special gift in our lives.
They see the goodness in us and teach us important lessons about life and faith.
We are called to care for our grandparents and to help them, remember them, and pray for them.
When we return love, we put ourselves at their service.
Lord, help us to live as you taught us.”
On this Grandparents Day, we honour those who have nurtured us in faith, encouraged our dreams, and shown us the beauty of living a life rooted in love. Whether they are with us today or held lovingly in our memories, we thank God for the gift they are to our families and our school community.
May we continue to follow their example and answer the call to holiness through the way we love, serve, and cherish one another.
Thank you to everyone who came out today to join us in our celebrations.
Happy Grandparents Day!
