What a day P2 had in Castle Espie!
We learned so much more about Brent Geese and their migration to Arctic Canada. Did you know that for a period of time in Arctic Canada none of the Brent Geese can fly? Mummy birds can’t leave their nests and daddy birds are exhausted from the journey and need to grow new feathers, so they are sitting prey for Polar Bears and Arctic Foxes! But luckily, they are extremely good at using camouflage as a defence against predators.
We saw beautiful real life Brent Geese, lots of amazing Wetland birds and got to feed them too. We played bird games in the woods and Leo actually found a Fairy house!
We were lucky ducks too because we had a great day with no rain!
