Here are some photos to show you a few things that we have been up to in class. The first set of photos are when we used shoes to inspire us to write some poetry. We thought of great sound words, like clip clop or slap bang, depending on the sound that the shoe made and then used the pattern of another poem to make our own. We also did a lot of work on alliteration using the poem We Want to Wear our Wellies. The second set of photos are from when we were learning about synonyms. The children had to group themselves with other children who had a word that meant almost the same as theirs. The last set of photos are when we were learning about metres. Each pair of children had a metre string and a list of things to measure to see if they were shorter than a metre, about a metre or longer than a metre. Maybe you could make your own metre string at home and do the same thing?
