Tuesday's Brilliant Bakers

28th Apr 2020

As always a fantastic response to the 'Brilliant Bakers' challenge today and we are looking forward to seeing even more 'Bakers' as the week progresses. We must, however, start today with Zoe (P6) who celebrates her 10th Birthday today. Today Zoe and her family baked a special Birthday cake to mark the occasion. Happy Birthday Zoe from everyone at Saint Mary's and we hope you have a lovely day.

Sophia (P4) and Olivia (Nursery) baked their perfect pizzas with their pizza making kits. You look so delighted girls. Well done to you both! Oisin (P1) and Brogan (P4) also baked wonderful pizza. Oisin made a little plain one and Brogan chose pepperoni as it's her favourite topping. Fabulous work! Charlotte (P6) and Bella Grace (Nursery) baked beautiful, pretty cupcakes and a home baked pizza. That's dinner and dessert sorted for tonight's dinner.

Jude (P5) and Shane (P2) baked soda bread this morning. Jude made plain ones and Shane chose fruit for his sodas. Jude had his toasted with marmalade while Shane had butter and jam on his one. I am assured it was very tasty. Not to be left behind we had Mrs Breen who made an oven soda bread using her mums secret recipe. She tells me she made it at lunchtime but it didn't last too long because as soon as she set it on the table her husband and kids made very short work of it and ate the whole lot. I don't blame them as again, it looks really tasty. Amazing baking all round folks. A big 'Thank You' to all our 'Brilliant Bakers' today and their families who continue to be very enthusiastic about all the challenges. It's lovely to see you passing on so many skills to your children. Continue to send your 'Bake Challenge' photographs to aoneill392@c2kni.net this week.

Today we were also contacted by Lucy (P6) who has been busy building a Fairy Garden. Lily (P5) and Feidhelm (P3) have also been busy making a pallet display for flowers. They sanded, painted and then planted their shrubs. They have promised to let us know how they grow over the next few weeks. Ava (P3) built herself a fort and completed a very difficult "Frozen" jigsaw and Cliodhna (P2) and Orna (P4) have been busy helping out on the farm and helping their dad tend to the cattle.
