To celebrate world book day, Primary 6 took part in a very special book tasting event. After lunch, there was much excitement in the class as the children were given a menu with a number of different reading options to help them decide which genre of book they would like to read.
We had a good selection from our book store of fantasy, adventure, traditional, mystery, legends, sci fi, chiller, biography and information books. The children took turns at playing waiter and took the order of each child at their table. They then recommended and selected a book for each child at their table.
The children then sampled ‘had a taste’ of each book and after ten minutes wrote a short review of each story that they had read. They also gave it a star rating and decided if they would like to continue reading their book in future. The children sampled three books in total - one for starters, one for mains and then one for dessert! There were even some refreshments too, in the form of lemonade and biscuits!
